U-MICH Tests a Wearable Kidney on Sheep
The University of Michigan Bioartificial Renal Epithelial Cell System (BRECS) is the basis for a portable, wearable artificial kidney that contains living kidney cells. Sheep tested on the device for a week had better cell activity than those who received a sham treatment. Read the abstract.
