YOUR Chance to Comment on Medicare Dialysis Policies by
August 25th!
CMS (Medicare) is asking for input from the community on:
1). The Prospective Payment System (PPS) and Quality
Incentive Program (QIP)
Medicare
proposes to raise payment per dialysis treatment to $269.99 and
stop requiring clinics to report in-center patients’
ultrafiltration rate (UFR) starting in 2024. So, if too
much water is removed, there will be no impact on 2026 clinic payments.
If you or someone you know has cramps or takes many hours to
recover after each treatment from removing water too quickly,
please
comment!
2). Want Medicare to cover a doctor-developed, FDA-approved
device to reduce needle pain in minutes without messy creams?
Ask CMS to include the Buzzy
Pro for TPNIES add-on payment, so clinics will buy them.
Please leave
a comment here. Say what impact needle fear and pain have
on YOUR life, and how important it is to have choices to help with
it.
